Policy and Procedure Development
Our extensive experience of writing and working with Employment Policies and Procedures makes us ideally placed to help you develop workable documents that keeps you on the right side of legislation but allows the business to function.
Employment Handbooks
We have a number of Employment handbook options for you to choose from.
Our core handbook covers all the employment issues you need. It has within it the basic procedures you need to ensure you are fully compliant with legislation. It is then adapted so it carries your logo and covers your history and culture. It will look and feel like your own.
Our enhanced handbook goes above and beyond and contains everything the core has but contains up to 5 additional key policies and procedures of your choice, written specifically for you.
Our Personnel Procedures manual is the cre‘me de la cre‘me of handbooks. It contains everything the enhanced handbook has plus it contains the employment packages we have.
Employment Packages
Appraisal - In this package you will get everything you need to implement and conduct effective appraisal including appraisee/appraiser forms, guidance notes, tips on conducting effective appraisals and standard letters.
Recruitment - In this package you get everything you need to conduct a recruitment exercise, including, template job descriptions and person specification documents, equal opportunity monitoring form, sample interview questions, reference request forms and model letters for each stage of the recruitment process.
Retirement - In this pack you will find a retirement toolkit which talks you through the step by step process you need to follow to retire employees fairly. Also enclosed are model letters for you to use at each of the required stages.
Standard Letters and Forms
Other forms of documentation we could assist with are standard letters such as reference requests, model disciplinary letters and Principle Statements of Terms and Conditions of Employment.
Most of our documents are presented to you electronically in word so you can change them if you wish. We can also provide an "office" copy in loose leaf format which is version controlled to allow for updates to be accommodated easily.
Recruitment
Finding the right people these days is a challenging and expensive. We can help you determine where to advertise, write the advert, receive and acknowledge applications, help you short list, organise the interviews, conduct the interviews, advise unsuccessful candidates, make conditional offers of employment, seek references, issue Principle Statements, develop an induction programme and anything else in between.
Psychometric and Ability Testing
Our consultants are trained to Level B in psychometric, ability and aptitude tests. The OPQ 32 personality questionnaire is a great tool for recruitment and personal development. We can also offer Myers Briggs Type Indicator, another great personality questionnaire with many uses.
Assessment Centres
Sometimes recruitment and selection requires more than just an interview. We can develop an assessment centre that tests candidate's claims and allows for a real examination of potential employees. Using a variety of selection methods which can include ability and psychometric testing we will give you the best possible chance of selecting the "right" person.
Outplacement
Sometimes business is difficult and unpleasant decisions need to be made to down size the workforce. Done properly the damage this has on the business and individuals affected can be limited. Done badly and the consequences can be disastrous.
We can help you through the redundancy situation from selection criteria, consultation through to termination of employment. In addition we can help with helping the "displaced" person find an alternative role elsewhere via our outplacements skills in advising on job hunting, CV preparation, interview skills and negotiating remuneration packages.
Labour Turnover Analysis
A certain amount of labour turnover is inevitable and good for business but if it becomes too high, it's costly, time consuming and can damage the business. We have expertise in analysing labour turnover and applying solutions to reduce it and/or cope with the impact it can have on day to day operations.
Employment Tribunals
Even the best employers can find themselves with a tribunal claim. Preparing and representing the case can be emotional to the point that it damages the chances of winning. It's tempting to seek legal advice for this but honestly it's not always necessary. We can do the same as a legal representative would for a fraction of the cost. If legal help is required we will tell you that you need legal help and put you in touch with the right contact.
